My First Adventure with the Big Guy
By Debra Anderson

Where to start, well that is really pretty easy.  Last year at AgamemCon, Bruce was scheduled to appear to give a talk with the "Space Guys" on the International Space Station.  That day before, we were told that he wasn't going to make it, because Melissa had a run in with the garage door.  Sorry to hear that Melissa was hurt, but that didn't help matters any.  The rest of that day I spent feeling sorry for myself.  That night I nursed a drink for a while, and I guess I would say I cried in my beer.  I wasn't angry with him, just very sad and disappointed since this trip was planned since February of that same year.  Finally going to bed at a late hour, I woke up at 3am in tears.  I couldn't sleep for anything.

The next morning, we were all told that Bruce was going to make it after  all.  That was fine, but I wasn't going to believe it until he was actually there. Well, yes he did show up and gave his talk as planned.  I also got some pretty nice photographs of the guy.  Then I learned that he was going to have an autograph session that wasn't planned.  Well, that made my day.  So I got in line with about 300 other fans.

It took about 2 hours to get up to the front of the line to be in front of the Big Guy.  Well, that was the fasted two hours ever.  Although, by the time I got up to the front of the line, my mouth wouldn't work.  My brain kept sending signals to my mouth, but I wasn't working.  So I stood there and starred at him signing my cast picture.  Yes, I wanted a picture with him, but was to scared to ask.  Besides, he didn't even look up at me.  Talk about breaking hearts.  At the time I really didn't care.  In the state I was in, I probably would have made an awful noise or something. Thank God that didn't happen.  Then I would have died of embarrassment.  Then I had Wayne Alexander sign Bruces' leg.  That seemed appropriate since Lorien did give a part of his life for Sheridan.

The rest of the day is a blur.
